NCA Rescind Carbon Taxation Policy Statement

The National Citizens Alliance (NCA) believes that the federal carbon tax puts unnecessary regressive financial burden on Canadian families, and hurts Canadian businesses in relation to foreign competition. In addition, the NCA believes that due to massive carbon sinks, Canada is almost carbon neutral, and that our contribution to global carbon emission is 1.5 percent or less.

Instead of imposing regressive carbon taxation, the National Citizens Alliance supports:

● Increased federal government incentives for increased efficiency by the private sector in the extraction and processing of natural resources

● Increased federal government incentives for companies that produce ecological biodegradable packaging, and companies that purchase this packaging

● Increased federal funding in education focused on how Canadian families and businesses can reduce their carbon footprint

Consequently, the NCA supports complete rescindment of federal carbon taxation, and it will encourage the provinces to rescind any provincial carbon taxation. In addition, the NCA will rescind any international commitments to reducing carbon emissions.
