NATIONAL CITIZENS ALLIANCE MEMBERS ARE CALLING FOR LEGAL ACTION

National Citizens Alliance (NCA), a federally registered political party has been unfairly rejected by the Board of the Annapolis Valley Apple Blossom Festival Grand Parade taking place this Saturday June 1st.

We believe that this rejection is politically motivated, and amounts to political censorship and discrimination in direct violation of the Canadian Charter.

Festival President Logan Morse refused NCA’s entry citing “Grand Street Parade entries must be appeasing to all festival attendees”.

NCA rejects the insinuations that its party platform is “hateful” or “malicious” as claimed in a press release the Festival Board put out following the 2018 Parade which failed to mention NCA by name but relied on innuendo.

What is particularly concerning is the statement that the “Board of Directors has banned this group from ever participating in any Annapolis Valley Apple Blossom Festival events and encourages other local, and national events and festivals to do the same”.

Publicly advocating censorship, censure, and discrimination on the basis of unfounded and false allegations are condemnable in a civil society.
